Mike Reid Benefit Concert
Award-winning singer-songwriter Mike Reid will perform in concert on January 25, 2012 at the Franklin Theatre. The event, which benefits Bridges Domestic Violence Center, celebrates the debut of Reid’s first album in nearly two decades, New Direction Home. The evening will be an intimate performance, featuring simply Mike and a piano, and offers attendees the chance to experience his classic catalog in its purest form. All guests who buy a Bistro table are invited to attend the “after party” with Mike Reid immediately following the show. 100% of ticket sales will go to support Bridges Domestic Violence Center.
Since retiring from an All-Pro NFL career at 27, Mike Reid has assembled a long list of accomplishments: 21 number one hits, a Grammy award, ASCAP Songwriter and Song of the Year awards, an ACM for Song of the Year, and a place in the NSAI Songwriters Hall of Fame. His songs have been recorded by Ronnie Milsap, Bonnie Raitt, Anita Baker, Bette Midler, Prince, George Michael, Boyz II Men, Etta James, Wynonna Judd, Alabama, Tanya Tucker, Willie Nelson, Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, Faith Hill, and Adele. His hits include "I Can't Make You Love Me" (Raitt, Michael, Prince, and Adele), "Stranger In My House" and "Lost in the Fifties Tonight" (Milsap), "My Strongest Weakness" and "To Be Loved By You" (Judd), "Forever's As Far As I'll Go" (Alabama) and "Everywhere" (McGraw). He also took the self-penned "Walk on Faith" to number one as an artist in 1991.
